TEXT
"Life Everlasting"
Laura Knight Cobb
Oh Creator of the universe, who set each star in the sky;
You have given breath to every life, and know our every heartbeat;
You silence the winds of doubt, as your light shines beyond the shadows;
On bended knee, we seek your grace, and your vow of a life everlasting.
Through your mercy and your tenderness, you have sent the world a Messiah;
The Prince of Peace who brings us hope, and a promise that love conquers all;
A crown of thorns for our Savior, His blood shed for all mankind;
His sacrifice has freed us all to wave palms of victory.
You have offered us seeds of salvation, each sprout to reveal a hidden purpose.
For the garden of tomorrow blooms in what we sow today.
Like the lily that blossoms each spring, the roots of the soul are eternal.
As years fade into a thousand sunsets, the Light of the World shines within us.
We honor the resurrection, and the triumph of spirit over flesh;
We are the branches, He the vine, for apart from Him we cannot grow;
All who are lost will be found, and all wrongs will be made right; like the mighty sea,
Lord, lift us up, as the waves wash away our sin.
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia. Sons of men and angels say: Alleluia.
Raise your joy and triumphs high, Alleluia. Sing, ye heavens and earth, reply: Alleluia!
