TEXT
The Journey
by Laura Knight Cobb
Evening robes of darkness fell, a song echoed in the night.
The blackbird's moment had arrived, a curious child accepted a journey's invite.
Filled with wonder of distant places, with delight their quest had begun;
unravelling mysteries of far-off lands, fellow travelers connected now, as one.
They saw mountains, deserts, prairies, and seas; roamed ancient cities with arches and spires;
explored meadows, forests, and reefs, each place speaking a secret to inspire.
Every destination held something rare, they gained perspective day, by day.
With minds now open, answers were found, they welcomed each lesson learned along the way.
The blackbird with its broken wing, finally knew it had always been free.
The curious child had learned the truth: knowing now, the journey is the key.
